Quendas - A Second Chance

One of the most exciting projects at the Creery Wetlands Nature Reserve is the reintroduction of Quendas (Southern Brown Bandicoots) to the reserve.

Foxes have been removed and a predator exclusion fence has been built to keep foxes, dogs and cats from entering.

In this protected environment, the Quendas are flourishing. They began breeding within a year of being introduced to the reserve.

The photo on the right shows the predator exclusion fence at Creery Wetlands Nature Reserve. Note the solar panel, used to power the electric fence.
